Street View
For this exercise, we were set to the task of paving the street of this little alleyway with glass, creating the illusion of a mirror that reflected the buildings around it. To create this illusion, we made a copy of the original image and flipped it upside down. After erasing the unnecessary parts, we cut the reflection to make the glass into blocks, then took one piece away to reveal the original cobblestone underneath. This removed piece was placed to the side, and to make it look more realistic we added a drop shadow to that and the empty space in the street itself, providing the illusion of light and thus adding on to its realistic illusion.
